  • Front office
  • General office administration
  • Answering calls. Depending on the call I would either assist or relay the call to the applicable staff member or take a message
  • I had to work on a till when we were short of staff and when it was exceedingly busy
  • Capturing data on the computer program Boscon Go, such as daily sales figures, stock counts, supplier invoices and price changes
  • I had to assist the till supervisor at the end of the day at cash up should the floor manager not be available
  • Assisting with debit and credit card payments
  • Handling customer complaints discreetly
  • Either assist or call the head office if a till gives problems
  • Calling head office if the computer program gives problems
  • I had to help out on the floor if the supervisor was on lunch, on leave or off sick
  • I had to work in a close relationship with the till supervisor
  • I had to cash up the cashiers when the till supervisor was on leave or on sick leave
  • Printing daily report and handing them over to the floor manager to analyse 
  • Filing daily reports and other relevant documentation for month-end when the franchise owner visits the shop
  • Prepare coffee or tea if nobody else was available (for the franchise owner)
  • Ordering uniforms and stationery
  • Backing up system info every day on a floppy disk
  • Creating new stock items should it not exist on the system
  • Had to work in a close relationship with the floor manager 
  • Had to work in close relationship with the cashiers
  • Working on weekends & public holidays – the hours became remarkably long
